Hoosier Wine Trail November Gift- Indiana Wines

Hoosier Wine Trail November Gift

The Hoosier Wine Trail announces their November promotion offering an exclusive gift. Any customer who purchases four bottles of wine at any one of the wineries on the trail will receive a stemless wine glass screened with the Hoosier Wine Trail logo. Potentially, if you purchased four bottles of wine at each winery, you could have a complete setting of eight stemless glasses!

Those who visit all 8 wineries within a year will also receive a jute wine bag bearing the Hoosier Wine Trail logo. Just pick up a free trail card at any of the participating wineries and tour them in any order, getting the card stamped at each as you travel across scenic southern Indiana.

The Hoosier Wine Trail is Indiana’s fourth trail featuring unique wineries located along and near I-64 in Southern Indiana, from Lynnville to Clarksville. Wineries on the trail from West to East include: Mystique Winery, Pepper’s Ridge, Monkey Hollow, Blue Heron Vineyards, Scout Mountain, Indian Creek, River City and Chateau de Pique.

New Indiana Wine Releases: Indiana Wines News

Jeanette Merritt, of Indiana Wines, posted in her monthly newsletter the following new Indiana wine releases:
Traders Point Winery, of Indianapolis, has released two new dry red wines, which are available in their tasting room: Nickel Back Noir, a Pinot Noir; and O’Malley, a Malbec.  
French Lick Winery, in French Lick, have added their Holiday Label French Lick Red and French Lick White, which can be purchased at the winery, by direct mail, and through selected retailers.
On October 10th, Whyte Horse Winery, of Monticello, released the third wine in their popular “Horse Of A Difference Color” series on October 10th. It is the winery’s first vintage of Dolce Rosa, a sweet blush blend.
Monkey Hollow Winery, of St.Meinrad, is releasing Apple, Cranberry and Spiced Apple wines this month to enjoy during these remaining fall nights.
This month, Butler Winery, of Chesterton, released two estate grown wines: Variant 2013, a dry red wine, aged in French oak barrels, containing 58% Chambourcin and 42% Marquette grapes; and, Cab Franc 2013, also aged in French oak.

Indiana Wine Trail Plans Fall/ Holiday Events: Indiana Wines

Jeanette Merritt from Indiana Wines reports this month that the Indiana Wine Trail, in Southeastern Indiana, will be hosting of two of its annual events later this year. The Indiana Wine Trail wineries are Ertel Cellars Winery and Restaurant, Lanthier Winery, Madison Vineyards Estate Winery, The Ridge Winery, Stream Cliff Farm Winery and The Thomas Family Winery.

The Trail will be holding its 7th annual “Fall Haul” on the weekend of November 1st and 2nd. At this event, each winery will show its’ own individual wine/ food pairing style by including their wine in wonderful soups, stews, breads, cheese balls and more.

The Trail’s next event will be their second “Nouveau Noelle”, on the weekend of December 6th and 7th. This event is a progressive gifting event, where the Wine Trail patrons travel to each winery and build their own Holiday Basket with a unique wine related gift at each stop.

Annual “Vintage Indiana” Wine and Food Festival Arrives Tomorrow

The 2014 Indiana Wine Grape Council’s Vintage Indiana Wine and Food Festival will take place tomorrow, June 7th, from 12 Noon to 6 pm (EST) at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. Early admission tickets of $50, which allows ticketholders an extra hour of the festival before the public is admitted, a VIP logo wineglass and lanyard and more, are still available. Otherwise, General Admission tickets are $25, if purchased in advance, and $35 at the gate, with designated driver (21 and older) tickets selling for $10, both in advance and at the gate. This year’s festival will feature 26 participating wineries and 13 food vendors. In addition, musical entertainment will be provided by Zanna-Doo, from 12:30 to 2:00 pm, My Yellow Rickshaw, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm and Jennie DeVoe, from 4:00 to 5:45 pm. The festival will also feature 15 craft vendors, as well numerous artisan vendor booths, featuring homemade crafts, art, and candy that have been made by the hands of Indiana residents.

A major change from past years is that the 2014 festival is opened only to patrons 21 years or older, including those who are attending as designated drivers, and ID will have to be presented at the gate.

Also, $1 from every ticket purchased will be donated to the Indiana charity, dots in blue water, to assist their mission of providing clean, purified drinking water, through the installation of water purifiers, in multiple villages, homes, and schools in Haiti.

Indiana’s Newest Winery Opens in Indianapolis: Indiana Wines

Indiana Wines reports that Indiana’s newest winery, Traders Point Winery, opened Nov 29th. Traders Point is located in the northwest side of Indianapolis at the corner of Moller and 84th Street. This urban style winery produces wines on location and includes a tasting room where customers can sample Traders Point’s wine selection, which ranges from dry to sweet.
